    No, this is not an investment platform. This is a Startup Discovery and Networking platform. The Great Unicorn Hunt does not invest, is not an Exchange, is not an AIF nor a Family office. This is a platform for various stakeholders of the Ecosystem to discover and interact with each other.

  • If you are in stealth mode, you are unlikely to derive benefits from this portal so best avoided. This portal is likely to be very relevant and helpful for you once you have incorporated, have launched atleast a MVP and are keen to engage in conversations and get noticed by Ecosystem players and stakeholders such as Unicorn Hunters and Unicorn Spotters who are typically VCs, LPs, GPs, CIOs, Angels, Family Offices, Incubators, Accelerators, Corporates.

  • Usually VCs, LPs tend to hunt Unicorns and are hence grouped under Unicorn Hunters. Angels, Super Angels, Family Offices , Incubators, Accelerators, Corporates, Analysts, Executives tend to spot Unicorns early and are hence grouped as Unicorn Spotters. These groupings are more for ease of identification of roles and not representative of any club, hierarchy or separate perks on the portal.

  • You have 20 profiles unlocked for you as part of the free plan. You could request for cell number, email, send Namste Emoji and send unlimited Elevator Talks ( Short Messaging Functionality) to profiles that are unlocked. You will be able to see the real time, Balance profiles count in your My Profile Section in the right hand corner. Once you exhaust the profiles, you can pay and upgrade and buy access to additional profiles so that you can send elevator talks to individuals you would like to connect with.

  • We are very passionate about the Startup Ecosystem and believe that the current mechanisms of Investors, Founders, Corporates and other stakeholders discovering each other are inefficient, time-consuming , random and sparse.   • - It starts with creating a complete profile about yourself as a Founder and Business Profile about your Startup on The Great Unicorn Hunt. Individual profile includes your Bio, professional , high resolution picture, contact Co ordinates since complete profiles are displayed on the portal . Business Profile includes uploading relevant slides from your deck under each relevant section. We follow International Best practices whereby founders are not expected to upload the entire deck but just the relevant slides under each section with a text provided to clarify, throw light, talk through the slide basically.

    - You have 20 Profiles as a part of the Free Plan , which you will see in ' My Profile' . You could look up these profiles, ping them, do elevator talk ( a Short messaging functionality) with these 20 profiles. Infact once you have unlocked a profile, there is no limit on the number of times you can ping the person via elevator talk. When you need to unlock more profiles is when you will need to pay, upgrade and unlock more profiles of individuals or Startups.

    - You could enhance your visibility in front of various Unicorn Hunters, Unicorn Spotters by interacting more, unlocking more profiles and elevator talks. You could even download a Trending Certificate from your own profile section simply by paying a nominal fee if you think the Trending Certificate needs to be part of your deck or wherever else you choose to use.

  • There is no way anyone can and should force a potential investor to respond. You may want to look at sharpening the Elevator Talk to ensure its sufficiently attention-grabbing. Imagine you are in a real life elevator with a potential investor and have a very limited window to grab his or her attention. Will you shower them with unnecessary details, talk irrelevant stuff or will you share few, pointed information nuggets that are likely to catch the attention.

    Use the same sensibilities when you are pinging a Unicorn Hunter or Unicorn Spotter. Lastly , do your research on potential investors wisely and never pester. You must always follow the social etiquettes you would otherwise follow if you intend to make someone a friend for life and create a lasting impression about yourself on a stranger.
